In the front of the class the wall will be rendered and painted (wipeable primary colour 1 paint). We will also install a blackboard in the centre, a white board on the left for writing and projection, and a pinboard on the right. On the back of the wall, we will install a large wall-to-wall pinboard for learning displays boards.

On both sides of the classroom the walls will be rendered and painted (wipeable primary colour 2 paint). Pinboards will be installed in between the windows for learning displays boards. Rolling blinds made from local materials (mphasa) will be installed on the 8 windows. A ceeling for cooling will be installed also from the same (mphasa) local materials. Solar powered lights will be installed to allow night school for parents.

The storeroom will be rendered and painted (wipeable primary colour 3 paint). A security door made of metal and wood will be installed. Metal and wood shelves will be installed. Multiple sockets for charging electrical devices will be installed.

The floor will be resurfaced, stone tinted, and textured stamped. We will put in 5 large tables and chairs, each sitting 10 children, to teach a total of 50 children at a time.

Rolling blinds made from local materials (mphasa) will be installed on the 8 windows. The external walls of the class will be coated with red oxide.

A security door made of metal and wood will be installed.

Kakule Classroom Renovation Project May 2024

With your help, I hope to raise £3500 to create a better learning space from the dilapidated classroom block at Kakule Primary School in Lilongwe, Malawi. Once the target funds are reached, I will travel to Malawi and implement the project in 14 days with a personal hands-on approach to make sure that every cent is used in the renovation project. I will also personally take with me 23 kg of donated teaching materials to deliver and train the teachers at Kakule Primary School.
