In primary school, I struggled to read and write. My dad, Rt. Hon. Dr. Justin Malewezi, noticed this and came up with a way to teach me. Using the same method, he later wrote the book Sosa for all year 1 children in Malawi. The term Sosa describes the clearing of land before planting. Before my dad passed away, together we worked on the revised version. In addition to Sosa, I have written a small pre-school book called Mphanje which means the preparation of new land. It is my hope that once children learn how to read and write, they would gain access to the world of knowledge in which they can confidently contribute their thoughts.
